If you want to learn as much as possible about Martinique, go on the island's roads, from Fort-de-France to Grand-Rivière. You will find on your way magnificent places. The perfect tour to explore the North of the island, learn a little more about its culture and see the most magnificent landscapes, on board of your rental car.

Welcome to fort de France

Once you arrive at the airport, your stay begins. Board your rental car and it’s time to start your tour.

First, visit the capital Fort-de-France. These colourful streets, its museums and its market will seduce you. Also stroll on the waterfront, called Malecon.

Saint-Pierre and its surroundings

Continue your route from Fort de France to the North. You will walk along the Caribbean coast; splendid views.

Stop in the historic town of Saint-Pierre. Indeed, following the eruption of Mount Pelée, the city was destroyed on May 8, 1902 , and within the city, some places recall this period as the dungeon of Cyparis. Since 1990, the city has been classified as Art and History.

Then take your car to the town of "Prêcheur". You can admire its black sand beaches like "Anse couleuvre", or visit the "Habitation Céron", in the heart of an old sugar factory.

Grand'Rivière, in the far North of the island

Descend along the West coast, to cross the island to the East, towards Grand-Rivière.

Several kilometers to cross in the middle of a wild and grandiose nature, passing through the rainforest.

You can stop to Morne Rouge to discover a magnificent panorama of Mount Pelée and a sublime view below. Few kilometers later, towards Basse-Pointe, you will reach Grand-Rivière. A paradise.
